Church Sanctuary Renovation

Front Altar (A)

This will not be a new altar; instead, we will be exposing the current mensa (the top of the current altar). Wood will be joined flush with the altar to create a rectangular shape. The rest of the altar will encase the current structure. It will be made of white oak wood and stained to match the existing ambo and chairs. Accents on the front and sides will be crafted from maple wood. The centerpiece will feature a carved Sacred Heart of Jesus, with the Immaculate Heart and the Chaste Heart of Mary and Joseph depicted in the two respective panels on either side. A total of eight pillars will connect the top and bottom, adding noble elegance to our altar of sacrifice.

A new brass tabernacle will be placed in the center of the altar of repose, and the central arch will prominently display our beautiful crucifix (corpus not shown on cross in 3D rendering). Above the tabernacle and flanking the crucifix, there will be two adoring angels.

Back Altar of Repose (B)

This prominent new altar of repose in our sanctuary will be positioned against the back wall, surrounded by existing travertine. Each of the three arches will feature a backdrop (D) designed to enhance their appearance and create contrast with the back wall. The proposed color for this backdrop is a deep red, adorned with a gold fleur-de-lis pattern stenciled throughout. The image of this pattern below is an example and may not represent the final design.

The two side arch niches will each hold 4-foot statues. One statue will be a new representation of our patroness, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, while the statue for the other arch nich is yet to be determined. One suggestion for this statue is St. Claude La Colombière, a French Jesuit priest renowned for being the confessor of St. Margaret Mary.

The gap above the wall will be filled in with the existing wall travertine (C). This will create one large canvas backdrop. Additionally, the six existing spotlights will be relocated to some of the beams above to illuminate the new altar furnishings, statues, and other elements.
