Front Altar (A)

The new altar will replace the smaller altar currently in the chapel. It will be crafted from white oak and stained to match the color of the existing pews. Walnut wood accents will be featured on the front and sides. An "IHS" monogram, also made of walnut, will be installed on the front of the altar (the example below was created for another project by Fr. Dan). In addition, wood-carved Roman Corinthian columns will flank the centerpiece, adding a sense of noble simplicity to the altar's design.

Ambo (B)

The new ambo, designed for proclaiming and preaching the Word of God, will replace the current podium-style ambo. It features a step that elevates the speaker and conceals the microphone cord.

Back Altar of Repose (C)

This new altar of repose in our chapel sanctuary will be positioned against the back wall panels, which conceal the air conditioning returns. The existing tabernacle will be removed from the wall and the current church tabernacle relocated to the center of this altar of repose. Additionally, the existing crucifix will be raised higher, flanked by two side niches that will feature 4-foot statues of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Side Niches (D) & Prie-Dieu (E)

At present, there are statues of Mary and Joseph displayed on these walls. What may not be widely known is that these statues are part of a set, with Jesus positioned in the middle. The Holy Family will be brought together again at the entrance of the Evangelization Building. The existing statues will be replaced with new statues of our Blessed Mother and St. Joseph.

Facing both side niches and extending into the sanctuary, a prie-dieu (kneeler) will be installed for the faithful to reverently adore our Eucharistic Lord during adoration. Votive candles will be placed between the side niches and the prie-dieu, similar to those currently outside the chapel near St. Anthony. The faithful will be able to light candles that will burn with their intentions for either six hours or three days.
