2024 Slidell Food & Fun Fest

The St. Margaret Mary Fair (Slidell Food and Fun Fest) will be held on October 18-20, 2024. This year’s theme remembers the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition. Many of you might recall Seymore D'Fair as the official mascot of the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition. He welcomes you to “see more of the fair” this October. Come enjoy the great food, rides, and entertainment. Bands include the Molly Ringwalds, Rythym Chasers, Nola Rouge Band, Fist Full of Flannel, Voodoo Gumbo, and many more. Below are some important links to help prepare for this year’s fair!

Slidell Food and Fun Fest Rules

We're excited to invite you to this year’s Slidell Food and Fun Fest—a safe, family-friendly event designed for everyone to enjoy! Our commitment to providing a secure environment for our patrons has stood the test of time. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Safety First: For over 50 years, our festival has maintained a remarkable record!

  • Strong Security Presence: You'll see dozens of police officers from the Slidell PD and other local agencies, alongside dedicated off-duty military personnel. Their presence ensures that safety is a top priority throughout the event.

  • Thorough Screening: Every patron will pass through two security checkpoints manned by hired security and police. Metal detectors will be in place, and weapons of any kind - including concealed carry - are strictly prohibited.

  • Medical Support Onsite: Slidell Fire District 1 will be on hand to provide medical care, with additional support from Acadian Ambulance if needed.

  • Drones for Surveillance: We will utilize police surveillance drones to ensure safety across the festival grounds. Please note that private drones are not permitted.

  • Respectful Atmosphere: To maintain a positive environment, we ask that all attendees refrain from smoking, vaping, politicking, using vulgar language, or engaging in any disruptive behavior. Outside alcoholic beverages are also not allowed.

  • No Politicking: With 2024 being a local and federal election year, we do not permit any endorsement of any candidate running for any office.

Our goal is to create a fun, respectful, and secure experience for all!

We can’t wait to see you at the Slidell Food and Fun Fest! Let’s make it a great celebration together!
